The multi-attribute topological graph method and its application on power flow analysis in closed planetary gear trains

Abstract: The concept of multi-attribute topological graph is proposed in this article to represent the characteristics of both structure and state for typical one-degree-of-freedom planar spur closed planetary gear trains. This method is well applied in power flow analysis and provides a graphical view for the types, values, directions, and transmission relationship of power flow, especially for the recirculation power representation. Furthermore, a template model of multi-attribute topological graph for closed planeta… Show more

“…Reviewing the literature indicates that the lever analogy method is widely applied to analyze speeds and force condition of EGTs. Then the power flow and power loss are analyzed to obtain another evaluation index, called the transmission efficiency [2,[25][26][27][28]. In fact, the torque method [29], applying the concept of the ratio sensitivity [30,31], is a simple and universal scheme, which can be applied to all structures.…”

“…The industry should seize the opportunity of low-carbon economy and intervene in the research of new transmission technologies such as hybrid power and stepless speed regulation in advance [5]. In order to better meet the current application requirements, the new gear transmission system composed of gears and gear products is developing towards miniaturization and cyclization, resulting in more complicated structural changes [6,7]. The kinematics and dynamics of the system have also become extremely complex.…”
