“…Furthermore, results from selected centers may not have reliable external validity. This is already reflected in the literature: in one series using the Atlas for stent coiling, the follow-up complete (Raymond 1) occlusion rate was 93%7; in another series, this rate was 44% 6. Similarly for LVIS and LVIS Jr, reported rates of initial Raymond 1 occlusion have varied from 29%8 to 84% 9.…”

“…This result is in accordance with those of Ten Brinck et al 10) , who reported favorable outcomes in 84.6% patients (22/26) treated using the NeuroForm Atlas stent in a preliminary study. Although only two patients with SAH (2/27) were included, Ulfert et al 11) reported that none of their patients developed new symptoms or experienced permanent reductions in mRS scores. Another study by Jankowitz et al 6) reporting the safety of NeuroForm Atlas system documented a stent-associated late thromboembolic event in one of the 30 patients with unruptured aneurysms (3.3%) at the 12-month follow-up.…”

“…The Atlas has several technical advantages over previous models, principally a lower delivery profile. 40,44 However, it has a relatively low outward radial force, favoring balloon predilatation prior to deployment. 8,24 Our patient additionally received 2 PEDs for her longer left cervical and petrous ICA dissection.…”
