The neutralino sector of the next-to-minimal supersymmetric Standard Model

Abstract: The Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) includes a Higgs iso-singlet superfield in addition to the two Higgs doublet superfields of the minimal extension. If the Higgs fields remain weakly coupled up to the GUT scale, as naturally motivated by the concept of supersymmetry, the mixing between singlet and doublet fields is small and can be treated perturbatively. The mass spectrum and mixing matrix of the neutralino sector can be analyzed analytically and the structure of this 5-state system is… Show more

“…With the additional singlet Higgs field, there are one more CP-even and one more CP-odd Higgs bosons, and one more neutralino other than those in the MSSM. The Higgs phenomenology is much richer [2,6,7,8], and so does the neutralinos [9,10,11]. One particular feature of the NMSSM is the allowable light pseudoscalar boson A 1 , which is consistent with existing data.…”

“…The fermionic component of the singlet superfieldŜ in equation (2.1) (the 'singlino', S) could mix with the gauginos and the higgsinos of the MSSM. A singlino-dominated neutralino could turn out to be the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) and may crucially affect the cascade decays of the heavier SUSY excitations [14,[21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28]. We would further assume that R-parity is conserved and hence the LSP (χ 0 1 ) is stable.…”

“…The impact of these NMSSM specific features on sparticle production and on cascade decays has already been addressed: sparticle decays into singlino-like neutralinos have been studied in [16][17][18][19][20][21], sparticle decays into neutralinos in [22], decays of stops, sbottoms and staus in [23], the associated production of a light CP-odd Higgs boson with a chargino pair in [24], neutralino decays into light Higgs bosons in [25], neutralino decays into soft leptons in [26], and neutralino and chargino decays into many leptons in [27].…”
