Introduction Amidst another wave of COVID-19, the alarming number of cases per day in India has affected the healthcare system and professionals tremendously. As the disease burden continues to increase, ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialists remain at high risk of exposure to this aerosol borne virus. This requires the creation and regulation of protocols for conducting routine clinical practice, especially by ENT specialists. Objectives To review the available literature and to propose strategies and recommendations for ENT practitioners to conduct their regular practice amidst this pandemic. Data synthesis A systematic review of the available literature on ENT practice during the COVID-19 pandemic was done. Out of the many protocols proposed in various studies, the most practical and feasible ones that could be adopted by practicing ENT doctors/ surgeons in the long run were selected. Adequate precautions and use of high level of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required to be adopted by all practicing ENT doctors. Use of teleconsultation has been promoted as it limits face-to-face exposure. Proper guidelines should be followed for both emergency and elective surgeries. Endoscopy can be used as a safe and useful tool for ENT examination. Conclusion As practicing otorhinolaryngologists, it is of utmost importance that we take all necessary precautions and adopt safety measures in our clinical practice while conducting out patient department (OPD) consultations, operative procedures, and emergency care to protect our patients, ourselves, and other healthcare staff during this time.

Introduction: Despite a larger frequency of OPD patients requiring treatment, why is it not done in OPD should be addressed. Because there is no suction equipment in the ENT OPD, these patients who require suctioning are referred to ENT Emergency Room. This is a source of undue inconvenience for patients. This not only poses a risk to patient safety, but it also has major financial consequences, as well as a negative impact on patient satisfaction, which is a key indicator of treatment quality. Methods: This is a closed-loop audit cycle beginning with recognition of the problem and assessing the magnitude of the problem. Based on the burden of referrals to the MOT, the auditors proposed the changes in practice under hospital OPD guidelines enacted by Pakistan Otolaryngology Association. Results: A significant percentage of 52.5 is requiring ear suction in the first audit cycle. The percentage of patients that had to be referred to ENT OT decreased from 52.5% in the previous audit to a significantly low value of 9.5% in this audit. This clinic’s role is to decrease the burden of referrals, reduce patients’ misery of going to the ER for suctioning, and improve patient satisfaction. Conclusion: Our study discerns the fact that the implementation of some simple protocols will lead to an immense change. The resultant reduction in clinical activity will lead to a reduction in the workload of the doctors too.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the Airline Industry in many aspects. This has brought changes in many aspects of the lives both as service providers and service receivers in the air transport. Social distancing and other restrictions have significantly impacted the stakeholders in the airlines industry. In addition, several airlines faced more challenges after the reopening of the services and operations since adaptation of the new standards and procedures have set the limitations. Therefore, organizational planning and managing crisis are relevant. This research aimed to discuss relevant information in relations to e-service which could support the management levels to contribute to the crisis management strategic planning. The author adopted qualitative analysis by applying the in-depth interview. This research investigated how two airlines in Thailand had managed the disruptions and other disturbance caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The respondents in the study were 8 managers working in two different airlines in Suvarnabhumi airport. This was conducted in April- May 2022 to study the relevant information in relations to the effectiveness of the strategy. The management in the Airline industry will benefit from this set of information and be able to help organizations in air transport to respond to current situations.
