Abstract:Efficient long-range axonal transport is essential for maintaining neuronal function, and perturbations in this process underlie severe neurological diseases. We have previously demonstrated that signalling endosomes are transportedin vivoat comparable speeds across motor neurons (MNs) innervating different hindlimb muscles, as well as between forelimb and hindlimb peripheral nerves. In contrast, axonal transport is faster in MNs compared to sensory neurons innervating the same muscle. Found periodically acros… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
