This is similar to that reported for larvae of some species -the common dentex (Santamaria et al 2004) at 4 DAH and yellowtail kingfish (Chen et al 2006) at 5 DAH -but is considerably earlier than that of haddock (Hamlin et al 2000) at 12 DAH, the common pandora (Micale et al 2006), red-banded seabream (Sanchez-Amaya et al 2007) and pike perch (Ostaszewska 2005) that all developed such cells at 9 DAH. However, they increased in number and size near the onset of the exothrophic stage at 7 DAH.…”
