“…The Pha Som Metamorphic Complex has been regarded as derived from basin-filling sediments covering an ophiolite sequence in the Nan Back-arc Basin as well as from sediments of the Pong Nam Ron Formation in the Sa Kaeo Back-arc Basin (Hara et al 2018(Hara et al , 2020. Our detrital zircon U-Pb ages suggest that the protolith of the psammitic schists was Triassic sandstones.…”

“…The Nan Back-arc Basin within the Nan-Uttaradit Suture Zone is characterized by ophiolitic ultramafic to mafic rocks such as peridotite, amphibolite, gabbro, pyroxenite and serpentinite (Hutchison, 1975;Macdonald & Barr, 1984;Barr & Macdonald, 1987;Barr & Charusiri, 2011); the Pha Som Metamorphic Complex of metavolcanic and metasedimentary rocks, and piedmontite-quartz schists (Singharajwarapan & Berry, 1993; Permian limestone (Ueno & Charoentitirat, 2011); and pelagic cherts that contain Permian and Middle Triassic radiolarians (Hada et al 1999;Saesaengseerung et al 2008;Yang et al 2009). The metamorphic rocks have previously been interpreted as a remnant of an accretionary complex (Singharajwarapan & Berry, 1993, but more recently have been regarded as basin-filling sediments that originally covered the ophiolite sequence, corresponding to the (Hara et al 2020) suggest that magmatism in the back-arc basins occurred during the Late Carboniferous to Early Permian. The Nam Pat Group is composed of conglomerate, interbedded sandstone and mudstone, and mudstone, which are exposed along the eastern margin of the Pha Som Metamorphic Complex (Fig.…”

“…Hada [19] categorized Sa Kaeo-Chanthaburi area as southern segment of the Nan-Uttaradit suture in Eastern Thailand. Rock formations along this area, clearly formed along the main NW-SE structure, were subdivided into two parallel belts: the western belt of Chanthaburi chert-clastic sequence and the eastern belt of serpentinite Thung Kabin mélange [19][20][21]. The Thung Kabin mélange is characterized by strongly foliated serpentinite including various kinds of blocks.…”
