The Performance of Calcium Silicate Board Partition Fireproof Drywall Assembly with Junction Box under Fire

Abstract: This study uses a metal stud partition fireproof drywall measuring 83 mm in thickness as a test specimen to explore the impact of an embedded junction box on the firefighting performance of the wall through one time of standard fire test on a 300 cm × 300 cm area and five times of standard fire test on a 120 cm × 120 cm area. The results show that the quality of calcium silicate board plays a big role in the fireproof effectiveness. The embedded junction box located on the backside of the fire can reduce the e… Show more

“…It is then mixed with ADP to improve the fire performance of ADP, which were then mixed with the ADP to improve the fire-extinguishing performance of ADP. As nCa 2 SiO 4 is odourless, non-toxic and has a low thermal conductivity with high resistance to heat, 4,5 it is also environment friendly as compared to the conventional dry chemical. 6 Moreover, nCa 2 SiO 4 and silicon dioxide (SiO 2 ) scatter as residues during fire extinguishing and served as nutrients for plant growth.…”

“…Wang et al [16] once proposed that installing devices, such as the embedded junction box in the wall, could influence the fire resistance of the wall. However, this research focused on the quality control of the board with standard fire test experiment.…”
