The PIG-A Gene Is Hypermutable in Lymphoid Neoplasms.

Abstract: In neoplasms, the presence of chromosomal abnormalities and point mutations is suggestive of genomic instability, but could also be a consequence of selection. While genomic instability may increase the chances that a malignant population acquires adaptive mutations, extremely high mutation rates may not be compatible with cell survival.
