Sediments were deposited under mostly shallow marine conditions along the EA‐IND and MAD‐EA margin segments (Bosellini, ; Geiger et al., ), with a mixture of continental, transitional and shallow water facies along EA‐MAD (Coffin & Rabinowitz, ; Hudson & Nicholas, ; Mbede & Dualeh, ), and shelf to marine sediments along EA‐ANT (Mahanjane et al., ).
