“…Interestingly, some firms that were unable to engage with digital platforms have been trying to mimic online dynamics through the implementation of non‐platformised digital processes, which leads us to consider that the effects of the process of platformisation extend beyond the platform itself. This study has shown that the inequalities of this accelerated platformisation have a territorial basis, in line with what other geographers have recently found in relation to other economic sectors (Capineri & Romano, 2021 ; Richardson, 2020 ). While there is significant geographic scholarship on the impact of the platform logic in different sectors (Barns, 2020 ; Capineri & Romano, 2021 ; Langley & Leyshon, 2017 ), geographers must give greater attention to the distinct rhythms and spatialities in the ongoing process of platformisation.…”

“…The original local tourist attractions, made entirely by man, such as monuments, monasteries, areas known for their tourist potential (Maramures, seaside, etc.) and the like, are hardly brought to the attention of potential tourists, due to their lack of promotion and especially investments for the conservation and support of these important tourist resources and implicitly for the support of the entire tourist act made by all the actors of the tourism industry (Capineri, 2021). Currently, given the global pandemic situation, but also its previous evolution that tourism has shown, we can declare tourism, both national and international, in a decline difficult to recover and address by all actors in the tourism industry , because the drastic imbalance of the economy has brought with it the massive increase in the prices of tourist services, and tourists will opt for the best net offer and at affordable prices, which are not offered locally (Boschetto, 2020).…”

“…In December 2019, when the news about the appearance of the new virus was already circulating around the world, most did not anticipate the magnitude and multitude of implications and effects caused by Covid-19 (Klemanson, 2021). Global hyper-mobility causes the disease to spread rapidly, on all continents, to the most remote places (Capineri, 2021). By the beginning of March 2020, the epidemic is reaching pandemic proportions.…”

“…The relational component has become even more significant in recent years, with the growth of the platform economy and the pervasive use of technologies in everyday life (work, leisure, tourism, culture, etc.) (Kenney and Zysman, 2020;Capineri and Romano, 2021). In fact, the processes of socio-technological transformation and digitalization are important to close the gaps and weave new forms of relationships between centres and peripheries, offering new opportunities for the fragile and geographically marginal areas.…”
