Abstract:Sludge bulking and foam on the surface of activated sludge tanks, as mainly resulting from the overgrowth of filamentous bacteria, is a problem encountered frequently in WWTPs. Activated sludge sedimentation can be improved through the use of chemical reagents and powdered materials.
