The Post-COVID Home. How Confinement Altered Domestic Space Use and Living Modes, in Lisbon

Abstract: Not only is space use a result of spatial configuration, but it is also greatly determined by social patterns and society’s living modes. The COVID-19 pandemic and confinement resulted, worldwide, in a 24/7 use of the domestic setting, which had to be adapted to the emergence of new needs and functions in the domestic space.
