“…In this paper, we performed a combined experimental and theoretical study of the hydrostatic pressure effects on the electronic properties of the 2DES in LaAlO 3 -SrTiO 3 (001). On the one hand, experimental results [47][48][49] The data of reference 48 were measured at a bias field of 2.5 kV/cm, the other data without a bias field. The original data were taken at temperatures close to 4.2 K, but not necessarily at 4.2 K. If necessary we interpolated or extrapolated the measured data to 4.2 K. The solid line presents a fit to the function ǫr(P )=C/(P -P0) with C=1420 GPa ± 60 GPa and P0=-0.06 GPa ±0.01 GPa.…”

“…Uniaxial tensile strain applied to SrTiO3 again causes it to become ferroelectric and suggests a small negative critical pressure of magnitude of the order of 1 kbar (29). Measurements of the dielectric susceptibility under pressure (30)(31)(32) show a drastic suppression of the low-temperature dielectric response as pressure is increased, matching the trend seen in the oxygen isotope doping studies, which see a maximum in the size of χ at a substitution level of 36%, the same point where Tc tends to zero temperature. At this quantum critical point, the frequency of the polar transverse optical phonon mode responsible for the ferroelectric ordering approaches zero at the Brillouin zone center (29).…”
