The Pressure-Volume Loop Revisited

Abstract: The Ees is particularly load dependent and will reflect load interventions more than the inotropic state of the cardiac muscle. A VCO-generated Ees increase could be an unmasking of a pronounced preload sensitivity in failing myocardium.
