The prevalence of clinical diabetic polyneuropathy in Spain: a study in primary care and hospital clinic groups

Abstract: In Spain, as in other industrialised nations, diabetes, with an estimated prevalence of 3.7 % [1, 2], constitutes a major cause of suffering and a major burden on the health system. In both cases, it is the specific complications of diabetes that are chiefly to blame.
