Abstract:An ‘aerosol sonique’ is a mist that is brought into vibration by an audible sound. Reflection of the sound will arise in a system of tubes through which this mist is administered. The sound pressure in the nose depends on this reflection and can be made as high as possible by tuning the system of tubes to the frequency of the sound. The mist penetrates into the sinus under the influence of the sound pressure. This hypothesis was confirmed in model tests.
