Abstract:We evaluate the rotational velocity of stars observed by the Pristine survey towards the Galactic anticentre spanning a wide range of metallicities from the extremely metal-poor regime ([Fe/H] < β3 dex) to nearly solar metallicity. In the Galactic anticentre direction, the rotational velocity (π π ) is similar to the tangential velocity in the galactic longitude direction (π β ). This allows us to estimate π π from Gaia early data-release 3 (Gaia EDR3) proper motions for stars without radial velocity meas… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citationsβcitations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
