Abstract:This narrative review was prepared by a working group based on actual data at the international and Russian level. The review examines data on the frequency of added sugar consumption in Russia, as well as the changes in prevalence of non-communicable diseases, including obesity and type 2 diabetes, caused by excessive consumption of foods high in simple carbohydrates.
