Vergleicht man das hohe Niveau der wissenschaftlichen Diskussioii uber diese Fragen mit den Nutzanwendungen, die daraus bereits gezogen sind, dann wird klar, wie vie1 noch zu tun ist.Theoretisch haben Neugeborene das gleiche Recht auf Gesundheit wie Erwachsene. Da sie aber in der Ausiibung dieses Rechtes noch recht behindert sind, liegt ihr gesundheitliches Schicksal in der Hand einer mehr oder weniger verantwortungsbewufiten, verantwortungsfahigen und verantwortungsbereiten Umgebung.Moderne Gesellschaften, deren Gesundheitswesen gut durchorganisiert ist, haben die Neugeborenenbetreuung auf einen Stand gebracht, der hohe Anerkennung verdient.
