Introduction: Professional Quality of Life (ProQOL) relates to comfort and satisfaction in a profession. Health care providers are exposed to great level of stress and traumatic events in their job. This study aimed at determining the ProQOL of health care providers in Bishnupur district. Methodology: A cross sectional study was conducted among health care providers of Bishnupur district, Manipur during 24 January- 24 February 2021. The participants were 153 healthcare providers from district hospital, CHCs and PHCs using a convenience method. The instrument for collecting data consisted of “Professional Quality of Life Measure version 5(ProQOL-5)” questionnaire. Chi square test and Pearson’s r correlation was used for analysis. Results: Mean age of the participants was 37.54 + 9.1 years. The mean values for the domain compassion satisfaction (CS), secondary traumatic stress (STS), burnout (BO) was 36.7 + 5.2, 23.2+ 4.5 and 23.3 + 5.6 respectively. BO and STS were positively correlated. There was no significant association between other domains. Participants who had night shifts had more BO level compared to others. Conclusion: Majority of the participants had moderate CS and STS. Those having prolonged duty hours experienced more burnout compared to others.

Aim:The aim was to validate the Professional Quality of Life Scale. Design: A cross-sectional study. Methods: The data were collected using the Professional Quality of Life Scale (ProQoL) from February to April 2019 among nurses in Slovenia and Croatia. Results: The results indicate that the original version of the scale was not suitable for this sample. Thus, the scale was revised to improve the model fit. The final model showed a good fit (TLI = 0.886; CFI = 0.915; RMSEA = 0.107). It is comprised of eleven items, three belonging to the compassion satisfaction subscale, four to the burnout subscale, and four to the secondary traumatic stress subscale. Conclusion: Although the ProQoL was revised to show a good fit to data, it is an adequate questionnaire for assessing the professional quality of life of nurses. Effective interventions can be proposed to improve the nurses' professional quality of life.

Banyak tenaga kesehatan profesional yang mengalami burnout selama pandemi Coronavirus diseases-19 , termasuk psikiater sebagai pemberi layanan kesehatan jiwa. Meningkatnya jumlah kasus, konsulan, rujukan, serta keterbatasan sumber daya membuat karakteristik kerja psikiater penuh tekanan dan menurunkan kualitas kehidupan profesional psikiater. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi karakteristik pekerjaan dan kualitas hidup profesional psikiater selama pandemi COVID-19. Responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah sepuluh orang psikiater anggota Perhimpunan Dokter Spesialis Kedokteran Jiwa Indonesia (PDSKJI) cabang Malang yang bertugas dalam pelayanan klinis selama pandemi COVID-19 dan dipilih menggunakan purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologi interpretatif dengan metode wawancara mendalam. Didapatkan dua tema terkait karakteristik pekerjaan psikiater selama pandemi COVID-19, yaitu peran penting dalam mendukung kesejahteraan pasien, keluarga pasien, staf tenaga kesehatan lain yang berisiko, dan masyarakat, serta dualitas tanggung jawab menghadapi masalah neuropsikiatri maupun kondisi medis umum. Didapatkan tiga tema terkait kualitas hidup psikiater selama pandemi COVID-19, yaitu dilema antara hak atas keselamatan dan tanggung jawab, kepuasan kerja, serta kelelahan dalam bekerja. Kesimpulannya, karakteristik kerja psikiater selama pandemi COVID-19 cukup kompleks karena memainkan peran penting bagi pasien dan keluarganya, tenaga kesehatan lain, masyarakat, serta menghadapi dualitas tanggung jawab. Kualitas hidup psikiater selama pandemi COVID-19 dipengaruhi oleh dilema antara tanggung jawab dan hak atas keselamatan. Psikiater menemukan rasa kepuasan, walaupun secara umum kepuasan kerja menurun karena tidak bisa melakukan pelayanan maksimal. Meningkatnya rasa cemas, menurunnya kepuasan kerja, serta peningkatan beban kerja menimbulkan kelelahan pada psikiater, sehingga menurunkan kualitas hidup profesional psikiater.
