“…A recent randomized trial showed that patients subjected to a second TUR had significantly higher recurrence-free, progression-free, and overall survival ( 13 ). However, this study included only the use of intravesical chemotherapy as adjuvant therapy, whereas adjuvant BCG instillations are known to be superior for preventing recurrence and progression in NMIBC and are the current standard of care according to EAU guidelines ( 14 , 15 ).…”

“…The literature shows that re-TUR on high-risk and selected intermediate-risk NMIBCs improves outcomes (Krajewski et al 2020). Eroglu et al (2020) demonstrated the benefit of re-TUR on RFS and PFS and showed that re-TUR was an independent determinant of overall survival. We also found that re-TUR was independently associated with improvement in both recurrence and progression outcomes.…”

“…Comparative literature investigating survival outcomes is sparse, conflicting, and often affected by various biases. The only randomised controlled trial that ever investigated the role of re-resection in T1 BC was conducted by Divrik et al [25][26][27]. The results of their 10-year follow-up were released in 2019 [27].…”
