The pseudo symmetric structure of bis(dicyclohexylammonium) bis(oxalatotriphenylstannate)

Abstract: The asymmetric unit of bis(dicyclohexylammonium) bis(oxalatotriphenylstannate) [Cc: a 14.669(4) # e, b 12.764(2) # e, c 32.198(9) # e, b 95.14(1) ; Z 4] consists of two [(cyclo-C 6 H 11 ) 2 NH 2 ] [(C 6 H 5 ) 3 Sn(O 2 CCO 2 )] ± ± ion-pairs that are linked by hydrogen bonds into a pseudo centrosymmetric dinuclear entity. The tin atoms in the stannates show cis-C 3 SnO 2 trigonal bipyramidal coordination geometries. The structure can also be described either as two c-glide related substructures of pseudo C " 1 … Show more

“…(Cy is cyclohexyl; Ph is phenyl), the SnPh 2 moiety is chelated by two oxalate anions, ISSN 2056-9890 leading to a cis arrangement within the distorted octahedral coordination sphere of the Sn IV atom. The Sn-C distances and angles of the SnPh 2 moiety [Sn-C5 = 2.1388 (15) Å , Sn-C11 = 2.1486 (15) Å with a C5-Sn-C11 angle of 106.94 (6) ] are similar to those previously reported for analogous diphenyltin(IV) derivatives (Xu et al, 2003a,b;Ng & Rae, 2000).…”

“…In this context, and in the course of our ongoing studies on organotin(IV) chemistry (Gueye et al, 1993;Kane et al, 2009;Fall, Okio et al, 2010;Fall, Sow et al, 2010), we have isolated the title stannate as colourless crystals from the reaction of oxalic acid and diphenyltin dichloride in the presence of cyclohexylamine. To date, several organotin(IV) oxalates have been characterized by X-ray crystallographic analysis showing cis-and trans-coordination of the oxalate anion, depending on the nature of the -bonded carbon ligand that is linked to Sn IV (Ng, 1996(Ng, , 1999Ng et al, 1992;Ng & Hook, 1999;Ng & Rae, 2000;Xu et al, 2003a,b;Gueye et al, 2010Gueye et al, , 2012Reichelt & Reuter, 2014).…”

“…We have also published the X-ray structure of (SnMe 3 ) 2 C 2 O 4 · 2H 2 O (Sidib é et al, 1998 ) and have initiated here the study of the interactions between [R 2 NH 2 ] 2 C 2 O 4 · n H 2 O ( n = 1, 2) (R = i -Bu, Cy) with SnMe 3 Cl, which has yielded crystals suitable for X-ray structure determination.
