“…The first two studies are from previously conducted research projects on the experiences of intercollegiate athletes. Although we have published several articles based on the data from both projects (Schellenberg et al, 2013(Schellenberg et al, , 2014Schellenberg, Semenchuk, et al, 2022;Schellenberg, Verner-Filion, & Gaudreau, 2022;Schellenberg, Verner-Filion, Gaudreau, & Chichekian, 2023), none of these publications have analyzed changes in passion over time.…”

“…Well-being is defined as a subjective experience that represents optimal functioning for the individual and can be represented by different indicators (Ryan & Deci, 2001). Among the indicators frequently used in sport and school contexts to measure aspects of well-being, satisfaction with the context and/or with performances and perceived stress are particularly relevant (e.g., Killeya-Jones, 2005; Schellenberg et al, 2023; Settles et al, 2002). Satisfaction is a positive indicator of hedonic well-being defined as an evaluative judgment of the quality of life by a person according to her/his own criteria (Giles et al, 2020), whereas perceived stress is a negative indicator of well-being defined as an evaluative judgment which “tap the degree to which respondents found their lives unpredictable, uncontrollable, and overloading” (Cohen et al, 1983, p. 387).…”
