Abstract:Background: Despite diagnostic and therapeutic advances, cytomegalovirus (CMV) has remained a significant complication after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). The widespread use of preemptive antiviral therapy has reduced the occurrence of early CMV disease and changed its epidemiology.
