“…Dichloromethane- d 2 , benzene- d 6 , p -xylene- d 10 , and tetrahydrofuran- d 8 were purchased from Cambridge Isotope Laboratories, dried over either CaH 2 (in the case of CD 2 Cl 2 ) or sodium−benzophenone ketyl, distilled under vacuum, and stored in ampules with Teflon-sealed vacuum line adapters. The preparations of Pt(dcpe)(Me)H, Pt(dcpe)(Me)Cl, Pt(dcpe)(CH 2 t Bu)Cl, Pt(dcpe)(CH 2 t Bu)H, Pt(dcpe)(Ph)H, Pt(dcpe)(Ph)Cl, Pt(dcpe)Cl 2 , Pt(dcpe)I 2 , Pt(dcpe)Br 2 , Pt(dcpe)(Me) 2 , and Pd(cod)(Me)Cl have been previously reported. NaSH was purchased from Alfa.…”

“…Complex cation [ 3 ] + features a slightly distorted square‐planar coordination geometry. The Pt−P bond lengths decrease in the order Pt−P2>Pt−P3>Pt−P1 (2.3301(5), 2.3181(5), 2.3071(5) Å, respectively) and this trend is also reflected in the 1 J Pt,P coupling constants with the largest coupling ( 1 J Pt,P =2715 Hz) observed for the shortest Pt−P bond (Pt−P1) . Interestingly, the anionic N,NEt‐imidazolide ligand in [ 3 ]I features a similar geometry when compared to the N,NEt‐imidazolide ligand in trans ‐[ 1 ] with a large N‐C‐N angle of 112.8(2)° (112.9(4)° for trans ‐[ 1 ]) and a smaller N‐CPtbound ‐C angle of 108.4(2)° (107.8(4)° for trans ‐[ 1 ]) .…”
