The recent progress of triboelectric nanogenerator-assisted photodetectors

Abstract: Since 2012, triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) has attracted significant interest from researchers in the field of energy conversion due to its unique output characteristics of high voltage, pulse and low current. In addition, recent advancements have demonstrated that photodetection platforms based on TENG exhibit great advantages such as being simple, low-cost, portable, with high sensitivity, high response, etc, and are environment friendly. Here, this article provides a comprehensive review on the state-of… Show more

“…O 2− , O − , and O 2 − , by accepting the electrons of MOS. If there is a reducing gas molecule reacting with these oxygen ions, the resistance of the MOS varies accordingly as the gas sensing signal [56][57][58][59][60]. However, in our experiment, the sample with more adsorbed oxygen species (RT-12) fails to perform a higher response.…”

“…Therefore, TENG can also be used as a self-powered environment or chemical sensors to detect the humidity, light intensity, or concentrations of chemical components (Kim et al, 2018;Guo et al, 2014;Wang et al, 2020a). Moreover, it is more important to note that the material selection for fabricating TENG is quite ubiquitous that some functional materials such as ferroelectric, magnetic, or photosensitive materials can be adopted, which furtherly broadens the application range of TENG (Lee et al, 2016;Ren et al, 2017;Guo et al, 2020). Finally, the diverse structures of TENG should not be ignored because by appropriate structures design, the TENG is able to harvest more kinds of energy and use it for sensing (Park et al, 2015;Yu et al, 2017).…”
