In a study of meta-analysis using daily mean temperatures, higher temperatures was found to increased the risk of traffic injuries by 2.4% (RR = 1.024, 95% CI 0.939, 1.116) ( 29 ). Basagaña et al ( 30 ) found that for every 1°C increase in maximum temperature, there was a significant increase in the estimated risk (OR = 1.1, 95% CI: 0.1, 2.1) of crashes due to the driver performance factor.…”

Other studies can be found in a recent systematic review, which reported a statistically significant meta-analyzed RRs of 1.025 for road traffic accidents and of 1.073 for traffic accident injuries (Liang et al, 2022), although the different exposure metrics used in the different studies do not allow a proper interpretation of those pooled estimates.…”
