The relationship between proficiency‐based instruction and student oral proficiency

Abstract: The Challenge Proficiency-based instruction is the recommended pedagogy in world language education. However, do students following this approach demonstrate greater oral proficiency than their peers in traditional grammar-based world language classrooms? Answering this question is critical as we strive for increased student proficiency in K-12 world language classrooms across the nation.
