Abstract:Most bleeding episodes in persons with haemophilia (PwH) occur in the large synovial joints (elbows, knees, and ankles). Recurrent joint bleeding eventually leads to irreversible haemophilic arthropathy, which causes pain, reduced functionality, and thus reduced quality of life.
