The remarkable Jersey hailstorm of 1–2 November 2023: description and comparison with other cool season, dual‐hazard storms

Abstract: Around midnight on 1/2 November 2023, Jersey (Channel Islands) was impacted by a supercell storm which produced both a tornado, rated T6/IF3, and very large hail. This article presents details of that remarkable hailstorm and places it into context by investigating severe hail events during the October–March cool season in the UK and Crown Dependencies of Jersey, Guernsey, and the Isle of Man.
