The Research of the Effect of High Fe Content on AlSi9NiCuMg0.5 Alloy

Aluminium roofing is used for low weight, good strength and weather resistance, easy handling and assembly, for various roofs of industrial and agricultural buildings, residential and family houses, holiday homes, garages and various shelters. Important is very long life, relatively low price and the possibility to choose the colour design according to your taste. The basic form is a natural unpainted finish, which can be used because the aluminium roofing material is not subject to corrosion and is chemically stable. The aim of this research is to verify a suitable method of measuring the colour of aluminium roofing and to determine the basic characteristic values of the most common colours of aluminium roofing sheets. The identification by the CIELAB system makes it possible to characterize the suitability of roofing sheets in terms of reducing the heat gains of the roof structure, thus complementing this very practical information to the RAL colour marking system. This leads to a reduction of the cooling demand of air of the building in the summer. In terms of colour measurement and evaluation, the classical method according to the CIELAB system is where the colour attributes lightness (L-value), redness (a-value) and yellowness (b-value). These values may include the effect of surface gloss (SCI values) or exclusion (SCE values).

Influence of Heat Treatment Regime on Corrosion Resistance of Clad Aluminium Alloy

Al-Cu-Mg based alloys are often used in the automotive industry. There are characterized by high strength characteristics but poor corrosion resistance, which appears to be problematic in this sector. The manufactured blanks of these alloys may be protected by some of the barrier protection methods, including cladding. Semifinished products made of these methods can be protected against corrosion by a thin layer of aluminium oxidescalled clad Durals. The surface layer creates a stable and durable Al2O3 layer, which provides corrosion resistance, which leads to an extended service life of the piece. However, this type of protection is adversely affected by the effect of copper diffusion, which is dependent on the heat treatment mode of the alloy. Temperature and temperature hold are the main factors influencing the diffusion process. In the solution annealing of aluminium alloys, the temperature is in the range of (470-500) ° C, resulting in intense diffusion processes at the inter phases interfacial. The paper deals with the analysis of the influence of the heat treatment regime on the corrosion resistance of Al2024 alloy sheets (AlCu4Mg1 type alloy) provided with an Al1050 alloy clad coating on both sides in a corrosive salt mist environment in accordance with EN ISO 9227, which is supposed to have a positive effect on extending the service life of a car component.

Properties of Aluminium Cellular Materials Produced by Powder Metallurgy Using the Foaming Agent TiH2

A considerable attention is paid to the production and monitoring of the properties of metallic cellular structures and the properties of aluminium foams, respectivly. Foam structures can be manufactured in three basic ways (by blowing the external gas into the melt, by melt gasification due to the thermal decomposition of the foaming agent, by the melting of the foamable preform which contains foaming agent particles). The paper addresses to our publication [18] and furthermore focuses on the investigation of mechanical properties of two types of foamed AlSi12 aluminium alloy samples. Samples (1502510 mm) were produced by powder metallurgy using a foaming agent TiH2. The characteristics features of the produced foam structures (relative density, porosity, volume fraction of solids, Young's modulus of elasticity) were studied on AlSi12 alloy samples. In addition, the porosity of samples and continuity of their air cells were monitored usign the scanning electron microscope.
