The role of beta-adrenoreceptors in postoperative ileus in rats

Abstract: The aim of the research was to evaluate the influence of antagonists of specific beta-adrenergic receptor subtypes on bowel motility following abdominal surgery in rat model of postoperative ileus. Bowel motility was measured by the intestinal transit of Evans blue introduced via orogastric tube after surgical procedures of skin incision, laparotomy and laparotomy with gut manipulation.
