The role of blood S100B and lactate levels in minor head traumas in children and adults and correlation with brain computerized tomography

Hastal… Show more

“…This study shows that PCO2 and lactate After head trauma knowing the biomarkers affecting the prognosis in patients progressing TBI makes it easier to determine the treatment priority, to detect patients who may be at risk early, and to predict the clinical outcome [8]. In determining the prognosis in TBI; Studies have been conducted with some biomarkers such as glucose, S100B, lactate, and thiol [9][10][11].…”

Our aim in this study is to evaluate the changes in ABG parameters in pediatric age group patients with severe head trauma and to nd their effects to prognosis, if any.…”

“…[8] To determine the TBI level and prognosis after head trauma, studies with glucose, S100 calcium-binding protein B and thiol have shown that they can be biomarkers. [9][10][11] Arterial blood gas (ABG) is an examination that provides an overview of acid-base balance and can show the oxygen need and requirements of tissues. [12] Studies on the effects of parameters in ABG on prognosis have been mostly conducted on cardiovascular and respiratory system diseases.…”
