The purpose of this chapter is to provide research on issues from a curriculum transformation perspective regarding teaching information and communication technology (ICT) students in open distance e-learning (ODeL) contexts, and the implications of COVID-19 and the future of such teaching and learning in the age of the fourth industrial revolution (4IR). The objectives of this contribution are aimed at addressing the research questions regarding the challenges faced by university pedagogy today, the extent to which ICTs can enhance teaching and learning, and what transformative assessment entails.
