Background: Vietnam's economy and intellectual standards have witnessed significant development, improving conditions for residents to acquire novel mHealth applications. Additionally, the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has influenced Vietnamese awareness of healthcare; however, previous studies have only been clinician-centered rather than customer-centered. Methods: This study addresses this literature gap by interviewing 50 Vietnamese participants grouped by age, namely Generation X, Generation Y, and Generation Z, and health conditions, namely whether participants or family members have chronic illness. The study utilized semi-structured and in-depth interviews to collect the data and used thematic analysis to analyze the data under the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology framework. Results: Most participants were willing to adopt this technology and demanded a convenient and user-friendly one-stop-shop solution, endorsements from credible and authoritative sources, and professional customer services. However, each group also had distinctive demands and behaviors. Conclusion:This study contributes theoretically by providing context-rich demand for Vietnamese customers across three generations and healthcare conditions during the COVID-19 pandemic and comparing their behavior with pre-COVID literature. While this research provides helpful information for potential app developers, this study also suggests that mHealth developers and policymakers should pay more attention to the differences in the demand of age groups and health conditions.

PurposeBased on institutional theory, this study aims to analyze the influencing mechanisms of the institutional environment in the digital context on technology entrepreneurship.Design/methodology/approachUsing data from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, World Bank and World Economic Forum, this study builds a multilevel database covering 79 countries and 97,146 individuals from 2013 to 2017. A mixed-effects logistic regression model with the fixed part and random part was chosen to test the hypotheses in this study. The mixed-effects logistic regression model used in this study includes a random intercept with random effects at the country level, while the robustness test considers a more complex two-level model with a random intercept plus random slope.FindingsThe findings indicate that different dimensions of the institutional environment in the digital context have different effects on individual technology entrepreneurship. The analysis shows that exposure to digital networks and innovative culture positively influences technology entrepreneurship. However, intellectual property rights protection has a negative impact on technology entrepreneurship. Furthermore, the government digitalization has different effects on above relationships. When a government digitalization is higher, there will be a weaker positive relationship between exposure to digital networks and technology entrepreneurship. When a government digitalization is higher, there will be a stronger positive relationship between innovative culture and technology entrepreneurship. When a government digitalization is higher, there will be a weaker negative relationship between Intellectual property rights protection and technology entrepreneurship. Finally, the effect of innovative culture on technology entrepreneurship in the digital context is stronger for females than for males.Originality/valueThe aforementioned findings contribute to a better understanding of the theoretical logic underlying digital factors affecting the institutional environment and technology entrepreneurship and act as a reference for the country in terms of raising its scientific and technological levels and promoting economic structure transformation in the digital era.

Criminal law-based copyright protection with entrepreneurial spirit

This study aims to optimize the enterprise criminal law-based copyright protection. This exploration discusses the role of the entrepreneurial spirit (ES) in criminal law-based copyright protection. To study the relationship between ES and criminal law-based copyright protection, the concepts of ES, criminal law-based copyright protection, and enterprise innovation are given. Next, by collecting literature, hypotheses are put forward. They include the relationship between ES and enterprise innovation, ES and the criminal law-based copyright protection, and the intermediary role of ES in the criminal law-based copyright protection and economic growth. Then, relevant models are established. Finally, the hypotheses are tested through experiments and empirical analysis, and the model is regressed to test the experimental data’s robustness and the scale’s reliability and validity. The empirical analysis shows that: (1) the significance of ES under the 1% index is greater than 0. It indicates that the higher the managers’ ES is, the greater the enterprise innovation is. (2) The significance of criminal law-based copyright protection on ES under the 1% index is greater than 0 and the regression coefficient is 0.59. This shows that criminal law-based copyright protection has a significant positive impact on ES. (3) Under the l% index, the significance of ES on economic growth is greater than 0 and the regression coefficient is 0.63. It shows that ES mediates the relationship between criminal law-based copyright protection and economic growth. Therefore, strengthening criminal law-based copyright protection improves the ES and leads to faster enterprise and regional economic development. Therefore, the state should pay attention to criminal law-based copyright protection to encourage innovation to promote enterprise development. This exploration studies the relationship among ES, economic growth, enterprise innovation, and criminal law-based copyright protection. The finding provides a theoretical reference for criminal law-based copyright protection.
