In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, emergency remote teaching (ERT) in vocational colleges has become a point of attention in the academic community. This study adopts qualitative research methods, including content analysis and multiple case studies, to examine the implementation path and encountered problems of ERT in vocational colleges. It examines 326 textual materials and 37 teaching cases related to ERT during a period of home isolation in 89 vocational colleges in Province J, China. The findings revealed that vocational colleges have developed an adaptive path to the construction of ERT spaces, guided by the principles of usability, usefulness, and ease-of-use. The study identified problems related to the construction and implementation of ERT activities. Furthermore, vocational colleges have developed diverse and pragmatic strategies, forming an integrated approach to ERT. This study provides insight on improving the resilience of the higher vocational education system in response to educational crises.

MOOCs have attracted millions of learners worldwide by providing the public with convenient access to learning and quality educational resources, but the high dropout rate in MOOCs is still an urgent problem. Drawing upon Situation-Organism-Behavior-Consequence framework and interpersonal attraction theory, this study investigates the relationship between instructor attractiveness and MOOC course completion and further analyzes the impact of MOOC course completion on their career development. The results reveal that knowledge attractiveness and communication attractiveness significantly influence learners’ thirst for knowledge. Communication attractiveness and physical attractiveness significantly influence learners’ parasocial relationships. The thirst for knowledge and parasocial relationships are important antecedents of course completion for in-service learners and in-service learners’ completion of MOOC courses positively affects their workplace benefits. The findings provide new perspectives for the research domain of online education.

This study aims to describe the implementation of the online Arabic learning process using WhatsApp media during the covid 19 at UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research with phenomenological research..The results of the study show that Arabic language lecturers have used WhatsApp as a learning medium in supporting online learning activities by utilizing various available features such as photo, video, document and video call features. In the implementation of the use of WhatsApp as a learning medium there are several obstacles, namely cellphones, internet quotas, lack of interaction, difficulty in knowing the seriousness of students' learning, lack of interest in student learning, limited time, and difficulty in understanding the material provided, and in this study describe solutions. This was done to overcome the obstacles that occur from the use of WhatsApp as a learning medium during the Covid-19 pandemic.
