“…Most likely, older patients experience a major change in their relationship with the doctors once the intensive treatment period is over. For instance, frequently postponed follow-up sessions because they were no longer at the top of the doctor's priorities and/or contact with many doctors for various treatments at various hospitals, and thus higher levels of emotional distress or concerns may be experienced by older cancer survivors, highlighting the unique role of nursing in improving the quality of care for cancer survivors [25].
