The Role of Socio-Economic Tourist Resources in the Development of Regional Tourism (On the Example of the Lipetsk Region)

Abstract

Today, in the system of regional tourism, the question of the importance and role of socio-economic tourism resources, both in tourism development and in the functioning of the region's economy as a whole, remains very underestimated. Socio-economic tourism resources, according to the author, should be considered in the context of the overall significance of other tourism resources (cultural-historical and natural-recreational), since it is these resources that create the basis and conditions for the most effective organization and development of the tourist and recreational potential of the territory. Competent quantitative and qualitative placement of tourist facilities, infrastructure, hotel enterprises, catering and leisure enterprises on the territory of a tourist destination allows you to correctly distribute the tourist load on the region, solves the problem of regulating and increasing tourist flows. The article discusses the role of various types of socio-economic tourism resources in the functioning and development of the tourism sector in the Lipetsk region. The growth dynamics of various indicators of these resources in the region's economy is noted, strong and weak points in the system of socio-economic tourism resources of the region are noted.
