Abstract:. The Tau protein is associated with microtubule function in the neuron and is crucial for normal axonal transport. In several different neurodegenerative disorders, Tau misfolding leads to hyper-phosphorylation (p-Tau) and intracellular p-Tau aggregates known as neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs).
