The role of the dynamic pressure in the behavior of an oscillating gas bubble

Abstract:The paper contains a preliminary study on the role that dynamic pressure might play in the dynamics of a gas bubble oscillating in a liquid. To this aim, we introduce a mathematical model, proposed under the homobaricity hypothesis and deduced from the 14-moment theory of rational extended thermodynamics through significant simplifications, that makes the equations easily integrable over long time intervals. In the presence of a gas with high bulk viscosity, relevant effects can be observed in different physic… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
