The role of the home visit in the comprehensive health care of children and adolescents

Abstract: Introduction: The home visit is an instrument of home care and covers activities such as health promotion, disease prevention and rehabilitation. In several countries, there are records of the use of the home visit as an intervention strategy for several groups, showing positive health outcomes, however it is still poorly documented in pediatrics. Objectives: To review the home visit's evidences as a practice of promoting comprehensive health care for children and adolescents.
