The IL‐36 receptor pathway regulates Aspergillus fumigatus‐induced Th1 and Th17 responses

Abstract: IL-1 drives Th responses, particularly Th17, in host defense. Sharing the same coreceptor, the IL-1 family member IL-36 exhibits properties similar to those of IL-1. In the present study, we investigated the role of IL-36 in Aspergillus fumigatus-induced human Th responses. We observed that different morphological forms of A. fumigatus variably increase steady-state mRNA of IL-36 subfamily members. IL-36α is not significantly induced by any morphological form of Aspergillus. Most strikingly, IL-36γ is signific… Show more

“…The biological and functional roles of IL36ɣ in the healthy subject and disease were rarity on its data .The super family of interleukin-1 of cytokines comprises a group of essential mediators of inflammation more than the other cytokine family. The ligands and receptors of interleukin-1 were related with both acute and chronic inflammation and the pivotal action of interleukin 36 cytokines stay wily in immune responses [19] [20]. Our results show that serum levels of IL36ɣ were increased in PCOS women when compared with healthy subject (p ˂0.05 ).…”

“…Several lines of evidence, primarily from cell culture studies, suggest an important role in immunity. Although, for example, IFN-g abundance has been shown to be affected when IL-36 signaling is prevented during in vitro infections with fungi and mycobacteria (87,88,103), an effect of this upon infection outcomes in vivo has not been detected (107). Given the overlapping signaling mechanisms among IL-1 family members ( Fig.…”

“…The IL-36 receptor pathway has been suggested in the regulation of IFN-γ secretion by murine CD4 + T cells (39, 40). Furthermore, IL-36γ has been shown as downstream of the dectin-1/Syk signaling pathway upon exposure to Aspergillus Fumigatus (41). Thus, curdlan exposure in the presence of tumor-derived factors leads to phenotype-switch, and enables DC commitment to induce IFN-γ-secreting CD4 + T cells.…”
