The certificate of Health Education is a course of post graduate study available to physiotherapists from any speciality. The course is designed to enhance the awareness of professionals of the role of their discipline in the provision of health education. Having recently completed the course the author feels that it has implications for the physiotherapy profession in that,it offers the opportunity to consider changes in attitudes of physiotherapists to the provision and measurement of physiotherapy services. By offering an understanding of the relationships between professional and client and a chance to broaden personal and professional perspectives, the course encourages physiotherapists to participate in the more thoughtful and constructively critical outlook currently emerging within the profession.
