Abstract:Introduction: Biodiversity is not static, and regions with high levels of temporal and spatial variation or ecotones, may be critical for maintaining high biodiversity. The micro-tidal zone or transition from marine to terrestrial environments is a region with high levels of temporal and spatial variation.
