The Simulation Model for Predicting the Productivity of the Reinforced Concrete Slabs Concreting Process

Abstract: This paper presents an approach to predicting the productivity of the concreting process based on a conducted quantitative research involving the recording of concreting at building construction sites in the city of Nis, Serbia. In the period of 20 months, 81 recordings of reinforced slabs on eight construction sites of buildings were observed and recorded. The total amount of poured concrete was 11951 m 3 and the total consumed time was 503 work hours. The factors that could impact productivity have been iden… Show more

“…Marzouk and Ali (2013) proposed a productivity estimation model to study the impacts of safety and space availability on the productivity of piling equipment at construction sites to improve the project schedule. Matejevic et al (2018) used the AnyLogic software to establish a productivity prediction model based on discrete events and agent-based modeling. The study analyzed the constraints affecting concrete production capacity at construction sites to accurately plan the concrete production process and shorten the construction duration.…”

“…Park et al in [21] used the system dynamics as a method for designing a simulation model of ready-mix concrete (RMC) delivery [21]. To predict the productivity of slab concreting, a simulation model [22] was developed based on the collected data on eight construction sites of high-rise buildings in Niš, using a multimethod approach (discrete event simulation and agent-based simulation). Lu et al in [23] proposed a simulation model named HKCONSIM, which is based on discrete event simulation and is simple to use because it does not require special knowledge of any software terminology.…”

“…The object interdependency is presented in more detail, which ultimately yields more precise results. Agent-based modeling tools can also be used to optimize a model or to test its stability [22].…”
