The Simulation of Conveyor Control System Using the Virtual Commissioning and Virtual Reality

Abstract: Designing of the conveyors and its control system with control program through the design tool "Virtual Commissioning" is very important in the digital era Industry 4.0. Virtual Commissioning was recently used to perform realistic virtual simulations in the early stages of development processes in automation of the conveyors too. The main benefit is the possibility of integrating and testing the control system through the simulation on the virtual model even before physically constructing the conveyor. The con… Show more

“…This is also due to the fact that in a virtual environment it is possible to verify program components gradually on the basis of known principles of device operation without the need for a perfectly accurate model or production system directly at the implementation site. [7,8] The process of reviving the production system takes place on two levels of reality and consists of two basic elements. The real production equipment or its simulation model and the second is the control system or its virtual form.…”

“…35 In a teaching-playback system, specific tasks are taught to robots in advance, which then in turn work exactly as they are taught according the robot program. 36,37 This means that, if you want the robot to do any operation with specific component in the same way, you need to place every component at exactly the same position. As a result, the production flexibility increases due to the eliminated need for expensive positioning fixtures.…”

“…The main effort of product companies is to ensure the high and stable quality of their products in order to be competitive. Saga et al [1] mentioned that advanced digital technology is already used in industry, however with the concept of Industry 4.0 it transforms production into smarter automation in various ways through the installation of industrial and collaborative robots, intelligent sensors, advanced monitoring methods, the application of production simulations, virtual reality and virtual commissioning [2]. Modern advanced machine vision systems based on "smart camera sensors" have opened new applications and rapidly spread into many industrial areas, such as general process control, object identification and recognition, as well as quality control [3,4].…”
