“…Carbon-based materials are recognized as the most available sorbents for mercury capture due to its abundant sources and versatility like activated carbon, carbon nitride, porous carbon, etc. Then, activated carbon injection (ACI) upstream of the ESP/FF is one of the most effective ways to turn Hg 0 and Hg 2+ into Hg P , which can easily be captured by an ESP or an FF baghouse . Jang et al injected powder activated carbon (PAC) during the hybrid filter operation; they found that the speciation fraction of Hg 0 significantly decreased from 85.19% to 3.76% when the injection rate of PAC increased from 0 to 20 mg/m 3 .
