The small-angle and wide-angle X-ray scattering set-up at beamline BL9 of DELTA

Abstract: The multi-purpose experimental endstation of beamline BL9 at the Dortmund Electron Accelerator (DELTA) is dedicated to diffraction experiments in grazing-incidence geometry, reflectivity and powder diffraction measurements. Moreover, fluorescence analysis and inelastic X-ray scattering experiments can be performed. Recently, a new set-up for small-angle and wide-angle X-ray scattering utilizing detection by means of an image-plate scanner was installed and is described in detail here. First small-angle X-ray s… Show more

“…The study of the Ge K-edge XANES for the native and differently annealed a-GeO samples was performed at beamline BL9 of the 1.5 GeV synchrotron radiation source DELTA [12,13]. The measurements were carried out in partial fluorescence yield detection [14] using a crystal spectrometer in Rowland geometry with a Si553 spherically bent analyzer [15].…”

“…Further measurements were also performed at the beamline BW4 [29] of HASYLAB (Hamburg, Germany) and beamline BL9 [30] of DELTA (Dortmund, Germany). We used a home-built hydrostatic pressure cell with diamond windows for pressurizing the sample and for control of the sample temperature.…”

“…There are 'soft matter' X-ray pressure systems which are either stationed or have been used extensively at a number of major synchrotron facilities' SAXS beamlines including beamline ID2 at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility Seddon et al, 2006;Woenckhaus et al, 2000), beamline A2 at the Deutsche Synchrotron (Kraineva et al, 2005), the Austrian SAXS beamline at Elettra (Pressl et al, 1997), BL9 at DELTA (Krywka et al, 2007(Krywka et al, , 2008, station G1 at the Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source (Ando et al, 2008), and beamline 18ID at the Advanced Photon Source, Argonne.…”
