Abstract

The chapter is designed with the intent of sensitizing the readers and travelers towards adapting to ‘cultural nuances' of ‘the other', thereby preparing universal citizens who fit the cross-cultural model of today's world with ease. In the world today, where travel for business and pleasure amalgamated together is so frequent, only by respecting diversity and embracing inclusion one becomes a global citizen in the true sense. The theme is thus approached via socio-cultural, linguistic, psychological, philosophical, and rational orientations. Most of the subject matter in the ensuing chapter stems out of the author's long experience as a pedagogue in the area of foreign language and cross-cultural behavior training, foreign language didactic methods training, her penchant for world literatures, and a keen interest in traveling.
